It is no secret among dog lovers that dogs abhor fireworks. Whenever it is New Year’s Eve or any occasion that involves a firework display, dogs at home often get anxious. While sometimes it is fun for people to engage in a fireworks display, dogs are not pleased with this activity.
Whenever there are fireworks display, dogs would often hide under the table or bed to keep themselves away from the noise the fireworks create. Since this is a common dilemma for most dog owners, Emily has devised a plan to keep her dog, Joey, calm during fireworks activities.
Joey, just like any other dog, does not like fireworks. According to Emily, that dog would often hide inside the comfort room whenever he hears fireworks. Emily understands the feeling of her dog. This is the reason why she thought of a plan to help Joey in not minding fireworks in times of celebration.
In a video she posted on Twitter, Emily put a headphone on Joey’s ear and let the dog watch videos on YouTube. This was at the height of the Thanksgiving party in 2016, where there were several fireworks displays.
In the video, the dog seemed to enjoy what he was watching at the same time could not hear the fireworks display happening outside the room. According to Emily, she thought of this idea because she does not want to see Joey becomes anxious whenever there are fireworks.
At first, it was challenging to think of an alternative. Emily, though, was creative enough to think of this remedy for her dog. Emily said that whenever there are instances like New Year and Thanksgiving, where firecrackers are a regular thing, Joey already knows what to do.
Emily is thankful that she was able to find a way to protect her dog from the fears of firecrackers. At the same time, Emily is happy that Joey is enjoying watching videos on his tablet.
