Kayla recalled that Bentley was a fearful dog, so Kayla and her colleagues decided to bring Bentley into their shelter’s behavior office, where he lived for almost three long years. Kayla and her co-workers slowly learned what Bentley’s personality was like, and they discovered that Bentley was a great dog after all.
Kayla admitted that she grew to love Bentley after spending time with him in her office every single day. She even described him as the best roommate she has ever had.
Kayla described that working in a shelter can be difficult, but Bentley distracts her every time he senses that something was off with her. Bentley still has not found his potential family, so they decided to step up by dressing him up and printing out giant pictures of him.
Kayla and her colleagues made sure that many people would see Bentley’s giant cutout photos throughout the shelter. They would even feature Bentley’s pictures every Tuesday on their pound’s social media account so that he could receive the exposure he needs.
Britney and Doug saw Bentley’s story online and could not help but feel heartbroken that the dog has been sleeping on the shelter’s floors every night for almost three years. The couple wanted Bentley to feel loved for the rest of his life, so they decided to adopt him.
