It would have meant the end for these kittens who were left to die in a sealed box in the woods if it weren’t for Banner, a 3-year-old Siberian Husky from Georgia.
A daughter to Whitney Braley, Banner is her service dog who helps her overcome anxiety attacks and PTSD episodes. Banner is a loving dog who knows how to calm her down, leading her away from stressful situations. With Banner’s experience, it’s no surprise that she can get Whitney to follow her, especially in times of need.
When Banner found a sealed box with kittens in the woods, she rushed home and tried to tell her human companion about it. She wouldn’t give up on these kittens, so she tried her best to catch Whitney’s attention by tugging on her dress repeatedly. It wasn’t long until Whitney noticed, and pretty soon, our four-legged friend led the expedition to save the kittens.
Whitney and Banner opened the sealed cardboard box and found 7 newborn kitties as cold as ice. These poor kittens weren’t showing any signs of movement but they were still alive. It’s unknown who left them there but it was clear they were left to die. If their help came any later, it probably would have been too late for the kittens.
The kittens wouldn’t have to worry as long as they were in the company of Whitney and Banner. They took them home so they could regain their strength. While Whitney made sure they were warm and their tummies wouldn’t go growl, Banner became a mother figure for them. She guarded the kittens, making sure they had company the entire time.
With the help of Whitney and Banner being naturally helpful, the kittens were saved and are on their way to finding a home that wouldn’t abandon them.
