Samson was rescued as a stray dog. He was adopted by Lea, a kind woman, to be trained as a service dog. Unfortunately, Samson couldn’t differentiate work from play. But thanks to his kitten sister, Samson eventually learned.
Samson’s life
Samson was awkward in interacting with humans and even more so with other dogs. When Lea would take him to the dog park, Samson was usually the odd one out. He would sit in one corner, do his own thing, and completely ignore the other dogs playing around him.
Lea felt that Samson took his job as a service dog too seriously. Whenever Lea gave Samson time off, Samson would usually sit still and wait around for Lea.
All Lea wanted was for Samson to play and act as a normal dog would. So when one day, on their vacation, when Samson noticed a cat through a window and seemed curious, Lea got the idea to adopt a kitten.
Best of friends
A few months later, Lea adopted a kitten then named her Cleo. Lea was skeptical and was unsure if Samson would like Cleo but she knew she had to try.
Lea put Cleo’s cage in the middle of the living room. Once Samson saw it, he approached the cage and sniffed around it.
Lea carried the kitten out of the cage and Samson’s whole demeanor lit up like a child on Christmas morning. Lea was shocked since it was the first time, she ever saw Samson act like that. Samson treated Cleo differently than other animals. He wanted to be beside Cleo at all times.
After a few weeks, Lea noticed that Samson had put down his walls and blossomed into a playful yet gentle dog. She loves how the two very different animals got along very well. Truly, she was amazed by the power of friendship and how it has no bounds.
