Like human beings, dogs also have a desire to know and explore the world around them. When they are restrained from going out, they will get bored. Quite often, this will lead to mischief when they are not being cautious of their actions.
This is particularly the case of Frederick, a Rottweiler, when he was found being pressed between a fence and a cement wall. No one knew for how long and when he got into the tight space as nobody saw him. Frederick tried to get away by pushing and pressing himself out of the narrow passage but with no luck. Luckily, someone saw him struggle so they immediately contacted animal control.
Officers Jenna Humphreys and Daniel Ettinger of Denver Animal Protection came to rescue poor Frederick. Although it may seem like a less serious situation, the pup was scared and terrified since he can’t move freely.
The officers were having a hard time pulling Frederick out of the narrow space due to a matter of trust. In order for him to cooperate willingly, they come up with an idea: ice cream. Aside from the inviting sweetness and smell of ice cream, a kind and gentle talk also helped the pup to participate at the end.
Thanks to the officers’ patience and determination, Frederick was able to get out of deep trouble. With the taste of ice cream, he was saved in no time. The pup’s experience proved that ice cream truly alleviates and eases one’s fear even in the most unexpected situation.
Frederick is currently doing great at the shelter and in good shape despite everything that had happened. Since the rescued pup doesn’t have any identity tag with him and no one contacted the shelter up to now, he will most likely be a candidate for adoption.
Frederick is such an adorable and sweet pup, and many would be interested in adopting him. However, the pup is hopeful that his new fur family will always treat him with ice cream as a way of spoiling him.
