For many people, having their very own dog is a dream come true, and it’s probably one of the most incredible things that can happen to their lives. That’s because aside from having a loyal companion, they would also have a lifetime friend that would shower them with love every day. Indeed, dog owners would not wish for anything more, and these great traits alone are more than enough for them.
Everything that their dogs have aside from these things is just a bonus for them. These ‘bonuses’ come in various forms, and while it’s certainly a plus for any dogs, their human parents’ love would certainly not change even if they don’t have these things. But one dog in Los Angeles, California, was blessed with a great bonus that everyone, even her mom, can’t help but adore. This 6-month-old Dachshund, named Honeydew, has a rare and adorable asset that makes her a truly unique dog: a chocolate chip-colored fur!
Honeydew’s mom, the 23-year-old Heather Bruegl, admitted that with her dog’s unique fur, Honeydew became a sort of celebrity, not only in their neighborhood but in social media as well. In fact, Honeydew, who is not even trying to be popular, now has more than 200,000 loyal followers in her Instagram account, and Heather couldn’t be more proud of her.
One other thing that Heather shared is that Honeydew is often mistaken as an Australian Shepherd/Dachshund mix. But she always clarifies that her dog is a purebred long-haired miniature Dachshund.
With a dog that has a natural asset like a chocolate chip colored-fur, one would think that there’s no reason to groom this Dachshund at all. But Heather wants to bring out more cuteness in her beloved dog; that’s why on top of Honeydew’s eye-candy fur, she makes it a point to dress her up to make her more adorable. In fact, Honeydew has a growing wardrobe that includes a leopard print outfit, a ghost costume, and a koala hat. And her fans can undoubtedly expect more adorable and cute outfits in her future Instagram posts!
But even with the celebrity status that Honeydew has attained, she remains like any other dog, which is loving, caring, and affectionate; that is why her two siblings, Holly and Hazelnut, love her so much. Heather definitely made a great decision when she decided to adopt Honeydew long ago because the adorable Dachshund brought a lot of love, not only to her but to her other dogs as well.
